Education as a key against poverty

The main task of our organization currently is the establishment of a school in Sokoine, in the Morogoro region.

What has been achieved in 2023

Through the Tomorrow for Future Organization Tanzania, suitable land was purchased in the Maasai village, and the foundation of the school has already been constructed.
With the visit of Verena and Max in August, the initial construction and roofing were completed using private donations, and windows and doors were installed.

What we have achieved so far

Since the founding of the German association Tomorrow for Future e.V. in spring 2024, we have been able to accomplish a lot together with the Tanzanian organization. A major focus was placed on communicating the project so that as many people as possible became aware of it. This helped us collect additional donations, which in turn flowed directly into the completion of the school. Our efforts paid off: in addition to sanitary facilities including a water connection, we were able to complete the interior with handcrafted furniture. The school was painted in a friendly yellow on the outside, and school materials for the upcoming start in early 2025 were purchased.

On January 13, 2025, the big day finally arrived, and we were able to open the school with 20 children. They eagerly began learning and made full use of the new playground equipment. Soon we realized that the space with two classrooms was too small, as the second classroom was used for cooking and sleeping after lunch. Fortunately, thanks to a large donation, we were able to build a second school building and an administrative building with a kitchen and office. In addition, the school was connected to the recently installed power grid, and a second water tank was installed.

Focus now on school operations

In 2026, we are focusing on ensuring that, with the start of the school year in January, the already 60 schoolchildren are divided into four classrooms according to their age and taught appropriately. It is important to us that both the children and teachers are equipped with quality school materials and receive freshly cooked, balanced meals every day. As an association, we will continue to provide support and help maintain smooth school operations.

The next major construction project will be the outdoor area. This will be designed to be child-friendly and include additional playground equipment. Furthermore, the area is planned to be landscaped with greenery and trees to provide shade. Benches for resting or eating lunch should, of course, not be missing.
